Is there any Governmental assistance that helps pay for Adderall scripts?

I am a student in college, I have a part time job that only gives me weekend shifts at about 10 hours a weekend if lucky; also I may be in a student work study program hopefully but even still my doctor visits are $40 a visit and $54 dollars for generic adderall. Last visit he wanted to switch me over to adderall xr 20mg but the generic turned out to be $300!! I had to have him switch me back to the original adderall 20mg twice a day, he also has me on Lexapro but samples save me from that expense. Is there any prescription coverage offered for this type of medication, I don't want money or cash i just want prescription coverage or at least a little help, i just cant afford insurance and I cant get the XR because of the price...any info??
