Looking for a place of Spiritual Growth?

First off, the question is a little vague. To expand I have always had the urge to travel to a Buddhist temple in the search of myself. My spiritual self that is. Lately I have been researching the expanse in consciousness and the awakening of the pineal gland. As well as various meditations, astral projections, etc. This pursuit of spiritual growth is starting to consume me, in a good way of course. Day in and day out I am looking more and more. What I am seeking now is a place where, at least for a few months; I can go to receive instruction, be in peace, and expand on all these thoughts. Summarized, a place where I can strengthen this search ultimately. I don't know of a place in the US for this, and don't know where to start the search or I would not be here : p. If anyone has info relative to my pursuit feel free to comment, and I thank you for it.
