I rented a house that is in forecloser what do I do?

So I found this amazing house and jumped through hoops to come up with the start up. Then I call the woman I had a rental agreement from and said I have the money let's make this happen. So she then calls my husband and I later that day and said she went by the house and the locks had been drilled out and a lock box was put on the front door. I was devastated! Then my husband gets a call from her the next day saying it was a screw up the locks will be back on tomorrow. So we believed her. Did some digging and couldn't find any foreclosure or NOD anywhere. So we took the place. The main reason we wanted to move was so our son could go to a good school and be in a safe neighborhood, So advance about 20 days and a man shows up at my door from the mortgage company surprised to find us here and that the lock box had been removed. Now I don't trust my landlord, and in calling the loan company they say she is in foreclosure and stuff has been sent to a lawyer but no sale date has been set yet and it will probably take 3 to 4 months. But what do I do? If it was just my husband and I, it would be an easy decision but it's not we have 4 kids and I'm really torn even though my landlord can't keep her story straight.
