Astral projection help?

ok, so, last night i attempted my first try at Astral Projection, so on my way to sleep, i kept thinking, BANANA, and my legs and arms went numb and felt heavy, but i was told that then i would go through a tunnel and see stars before i could "get out". but then i look at things again, and i was in vibration stage, and i should of continued through one of the methods to get out.. so i am lost, tell me the steps you take in this please? i ant talking about being a wear that i am asleep ether, i am talking about the being able to take my spirit mind somewhere else, oh yea and when you do so, can you actually go visit people in like real time? and you see them, and they most likely wont see you? i here you may be able to talk to dead family to, i am spirituality gifted, i have sensed things since i can remember.
